So sweet! Savi was on the couch watching cartoons and Charlie whined for help to get up there. I put him next to her with his blankets and they watched tv together. It was so sweet. Savi said she loved him:) good to know there are days they will love each other and not steal each others toys all day!

It's Friday

It's my Friday. I worked last Saturday so I get tomorrow off. I'm excited to maybe take the kids to the zoo. The high is 64, so I'm not sure if that is warm enough. But the zoo has awesome deals during the off months. So we shall see. Otherwise no big plans. I work so much sometimes, that I do a few things with the kids and other wise we just hang around the house and play!

Baby C will actually sit still and watch a show. He HAS to have his blankets though. It is so cute. He is so attached to them!Baby C also likes his sissy's castle:) He started with just one stair and can now get to the top. We had to put Savi's gate back up to her room so he can't go in when we aren't in the room.

It is so hard sometimes to keep up. With everything:( I do the best I can and here is my random catch up post:)

*We took family photos the first week of January. They turned out so good and I'm super excited to get one blown up and above our mantle:)

*I can't figure out where we should go on our family vacation this year? Should we just go to our usual or venture somewhere new? How far of a drive am I willing to endure and where would be fun for even my littlest one? Suggestions welcome:)

*Savannah got a new (new to us and her) bed that is so fun and cute! My boss sold it to us and she loves it! A slide and play area:) Perfect for her right now! She can't get enough of the slide!

*I got a sewing machine for Christmas and I don't really know how to even set it up. So it is still in the box. Needing to find time to just get it out and experiment!

Nothing crazy in our lives going on, but I just feel better when I update my blog:) I shall continue to keep it updated. That is the key!

This was really the first year that Savannah understood Santa. So she helped make cookies and leave carrots for the reindeer. Then she wanted to sit on the couch and wait for Santa:) I had to tell her, Santa only comes when you are sleeping:) It was really fun this year. Next year will be even better with 2 kids who are ready for all the activities. Baby C is just happy to be with everyone!

My sister got married this weekend and everything turned out beautiful! She wanted a Christmas time wedding. My mom planned alot of the wedding because my sister doesn't live in TX and she did a great job. All the perfect Christmas touches:) I love my sister so much and we are so close. She found a great guy and I'm so happy for her. They are enjoying a wonderful honeymoon in St. Lucia.

Well not really single, but a fun night for sure. My sister is getting married in a few weeks and we got to have her lingerie shower over Thanksgiving break. It was hosted by her good friend Paige and was a small intimate group. My sister lives in Mississippi, so a lot of her friends are there. We still have a good time!

Paige had everything so cute. Hello Kitty touches of course....my sister loves HK. ie why my daughter likes it so much. Introduced to it by none other than her aunt:) We had yummy catered mexican food and then opened some presents. She got some great stuff and then we just enjoyed talking and cake! I'm super excited for the wedding in a few weeks.

We spent the day after Thanksgiving with Charlie's family and had round 2 of a yummy meal! It was nice weather and a great day. The kids always have fun playing out there.

At the very end Savannah asked her Pops if she could hold his guitar. He gladly let her and she actually sat there and played with it. Played it meaning sat there for more than 30 seconds and just had fun with the noise from the strings. Time to get her in some lessons:)

Catching Up

I've been so busy at work and enjoying my holidays that I haven't been very good at blogging. I have been reading blogs, just not keeping up on mine:(

We had a great Thanksgiving and definitely had full bellies. I actually got to host it for the first time! I thought I would offer to my mom and see if she took me up on it and she did. She has had to do alot of extra work preparing for my sister's wedding, so I think this was hopefully a help. Charlie and I managed to cook Thanksgiving dinner and I think everyone enjoyed. My mom brought dessert and sweet potatoes also. It was all so yummy!

I got some black friday shopping in and I'm super pumped about my sewing machine. Charlie let me just go ahead and buy it, but it's my christmas present. Oh the things I will make:)

The kids are doing great. Savannah is talking in sentences and making more and more sense everyday when it comes to pronouns and other grammar. She loves dance and her school. I'm so excited to go see her little Christmas dance recital!!! Baby C is talking more and using new words. He can now say Elmo, bath, night night, uh oh, fishy, dog, woof woof, and quack. He is showing is true colors/personality lately. It is fun to see. He is trying to be picky with food also. I don't remember Savannah going through this stage. He likes most things, but likes to decide one day to eat it and the next day have no interest in it. Very frustrating sometimes.

He does however like chocolate:)

New Addition!

Savannah was playing in the tub and had a container full of water. She took a little Flounder figurine and put him in the water and said "mommy, look at my fish bowl." I thought it was so cute and instantly decided she was ready for a pet fish:) I called Charlie and he was on board. I can't handle a cat or a dog right now. So a fish is about the only pet you could pay me to get right now.

We went to the pet store and picked out our fish. I held up a blue and a purple one. I asked Savi to pick one. She picked the purple one. She picked out the little castle that is in the tank also. She was so excited once we got home.

Every time I asked her what we should name it, she answered purple. I don't think she understood the question:) It hit me that Scarlett would be a good name. This was fitting because IF I had ever had another girl this would have been her name. I really am content with my 2 precious kids. One boy and one girl. I found it fitting to use this name on the pet:) Kinda weird, but it pleased me. I love being pregnant, and wait for it....I love labor. I would do all that again in a heart beat, but it is everything that comes with that that I'm not on board with. I have a demanding job now and breastfeeding for a year is a lot of work! And then just in general a newborn is a whole other job in itself. I like even numbers. I'm OCD and all I can think is 2 fit in one/most cars, 2 fit in one hotel room, 2 fit on a plane (one with each parent), etc. 3 changes everything. And just in case you didn't know, I'm not a millionaire:) I'd rather give more to two then be spread thin. Sorry about my sidebar, but there ya go:)

So we are very happy with our fish, Scarlett:) Savi loves her! She talks to her and pretends to tickle her, loves to feed her, and just in general thinks the world of this fish. Baby C points and smiles. So I think he likes her too:)

Sound Advice

I heard on the radio 4 things to keep your marriage alive and going. Apparently the dj was over hearing at a restaurant an older couple giving advice to a younger couple.

1. Flirt everyday. Little or big, public or at home. Always flirt, just a little.
-Charlie is good at this, I could certainly be better:)
2. Make time for yourself once a week.
-I have dance and usually do something once a month with my girls and Charlie says he is fine as long as he gets some time after the kids go to bed to work on his websites. Charlie doesn't like to go out really and would rather just be at home. So I think we both are good here.
3.Be silly!
-A few weeks ago while we were making dinner for the kids and just running around the kitchen, Savi asked for some juice. I asked Charlie to grab a cup for her. He turns around and out of the blue asks me to spell icup. I immediately spell it and start laughing. He is silly like this all the time:) I could be sillier....I just make fun of him and he laughs, so that works right?:)
4.Talk about your day everyday.
-Charlie and I do this all the time. We both always want recaps on the person who has the kids and then most of the time we go into our work days in some depth.

I don't know why, but I found this to be good advice. Better than the usual stuff I hear as marriage advice. The be silly and talk about your day aren't the usual things given, but they make sense to me. And I can see why it would work. Just thought I would share:)

Happy Halloween

We had the best time this year. The last 2 years Halloween has been on the weekend. Hubby works pretty much all weekends. So he has had to rush and catch us going to a few last houses or miss it all together. So I was excited for him to get to participate the whole way through.

I met him at my parents house early around 5pm. We all ate pizza and then I got the kids ready. This year I dressed the kids up how most of our days feel.....like a crazy 3 ring circus:) Savannah was a circus clown and baby C was a circus seal!

Savannah really got it this year. Trick or treating and getting the candy. She had a blast. I love doing this kind of stuff as a family. We also visited a few families that I used to babysit all through high school. It was crazy to see those kids all grown up! But I loved visiting with them.

Little man has been making all kinds of progress towards walking in the last month. This past weekend he is getting so close. Taking 5-8 steps in a row. Getting more brave in the middle of a room and standing and then walking. He hasn't rushed into anything, which totally fits his personality. Just slowly eased into it. He is so close!

On The Bright Side

My husband and I have been battling strep throat for the last 5 days. He first got it on Wednesday and saw a doctor that night. He got his medicine and seemed to be doing better. Mine hit me late Thursday night. I saw a doctor Friday morning and was so sick. We got through the weekend and I'm finally almost 100%, but hubby is back tracking a little. Hopefully everyone will be better soon, and crossing our fingers......so far the kids haven't caught it!

On the bright side, my little man is having a blast with his walker. Big Charlie calls him an old lady with his walker:) So cute!

Fruition

My dream came to fruition finally. I almost cried. A few weeks ago my baby started dance class. I'm a dance teacher and have taken dance ALL my life! So it was very special for my baby to go to her first dance class. She did great and didn't want to leave! I think the tap shoes were her favorite:)

I Remember.....

I remember being in my jr. year of highschool in spanish class on September 11, 2001. After we heard about what happened they turned on the tv for us only to see the 2nd plane hit. It was a surreal day, and nothing else happened in school. I guess my parents were just worried of what was to come, so they pulled my sister and I out of school to come home. There are so many people that lost loved ones that day. I don't care who you are, that day and its memories make you proud to be an american!

Jump 7 years later and I also remember where I was. Laying in a hospital bed pushing! We had gone in the night before to the hospital to get cervidil and low and behold I jumped into labor no problem and was pushing with in 8hrs. She came out so easy and my precious Savannah was born! She is beautiful and my perfect daughter! I love her more and more each day! Happy Birthday!

PS. Mommy couldn't handle 2 birthday parties back to back. So pictures to come of her party at the end of the month:) We did however venture to Chuck E Cheese for the first time on her birthday and had a great time. Pics to come of that as well:)

Double the Sweetness!

I don't like to say double the trouble.....seems unfair to label them that way so soon. Because all I know is when I saw these sweet twins my friend just had. They looked like the most precious little angels! Jackson and Lydia are here and had AMAZING birth weights for twins. No NICU for them. Go mom! She had a long road leading up to there births, but did a great job! They are so perfect and cute! Congratulations!

Free Free I'm Free At Last!!!

I know the title makes it sound like I was in jail or something.....but it is just my way of saying I'm excited and proud to say that I'm now done breastfeeding my second child for a whole year! Baby Charlie has officially moved on to whole milk. It is always a rough road, but I'm glad I stuck to it. I have had two kids and never bought or fed a can of formula to either one!

The second time was a little easier for sure. No mastitis (huge plus!) Milk got low at some points, but not as low as with Savannah. No waking up at 2am to pump just so I would have enough for the next day. Both kids were very good at taking a bottle and then switching right back to me when I was home. I love the bond I have had with each one of them while breastfeeding, but at the same time so glad to be done. It is a lot of work!

Baby C is getting to be such a big boy! He is out of his baby carseat and looking like such a little man! Tomorrow is his 1 year birthday!!!

Last week was Savannah's first Mother's Day out at our church. I took the day off so I could take her and pick her up with Charlie. We weren't quite sure how she would do, but we were definitely excited! I packed a special lunch and probably had way to much fun! lol If she could read, I would be sending special notes for sure. So instead I send special sandwiches:)

We got there with all of our things and walked her to her class. She was greeted by the director of the program and her school teacher. She walked right in to go color and never looked back! Sad for mommy and daddy, but good for her! Later we went to pick her up and they said she did great! She slept and ate most of her lunch! She came home with her coloring projects and a little report card on her day. She had fun I think and was still tired once we got home. I hope we have a great year!

While Savannah was at her first day of school, Charlie and I felt like it was a good time to take baby Charlie to get his first haircut! It was a big day for everyone. So we went over to a kids cut place and baby Charlie did pretty good. A little uneasy but good. He got a good little trim and then we just spent the rest of the day at home. He got a haircut before his sister! I still haven't taken her.....I just love her hair and never felt the need to. But I'm sure we will take her very soon for a trim.

Last week I had some sugar cookie mix that I had been meaning to use up. So I sat Savi on the counter and she jumped at the chance to help me. She helped mix the ingredients and then picked out the shapes to cut out. I have a huge tub of different shapes, so I just said she could pick whatever. We had everything from fish, dinosaurs, hearts, letters, etc. After they baked, I had neon food coloring for our icing. She would tell me which color to do each one and then she of course got to add sprinkles. I had a really good time doing this with her! Baby C helped by taste testing:)

Dream Come True!

After finding out I was going to have a girl, I definitely had a dream of my beautiful little girl taking dance. (I'm a dance teacher) I bought a few outfits for her and they came in the mail this weekend. She was very excited to try them on and mommy's dreams came true:) She loved them and got so upset when I made her take them off for bath time. (Sobbing) "Mommy, I want to be a ballerina." It was hard not to laugh. I will be ecstatic when I get to see her take her first dance class next week:) Even if it ends up not being her thing later in life, it still is a proud moment to see her take class right now.

This past weekend was another quiet weekend. Saturday was Charlie's dad's birthday. We didn't get a chance to see him to celebrate, but somebody did paint him something special:) She loves to paint! Savannah is finally moving on to a few other shirts for daily wear. She definitely prefers her Hello Kitty ones, but we can explain they are in the wash and not have a major melt down. That is improvement people:) She is into putting the word "so" in front of words. I'm SO hungry, I'm SO hot (we all are honey), I'm SO tired (that's my favorite...lol jk). They get funnier everyday!

We just did the usual play around the house, grocery store, play outside with the water toys, etc kinda weekend. But I love it! Baby Charlie is starting to imitate more and is so stinking cute! If you hand him a brush, he will brush his hair. He can turn a light switch on and off. He is really into pointing right now to. I keep telling him it isn't polite. He is feeding himself a little bit with a spoon. Lastly he takes anything that could kinda be a phone and is holding it up to his ear. I love watching all these fun milestones!

Tunnel

On the 4th, Baby C turned 11 months! That means in 1 MONTH I will have a 1 year old and a week later a 3 year old. Whoa!! that is just crazy to me;)

Because of the above and a few other things, I feel like I'm in a tunnel. I have 2 birthday parties to plan. Two completely different themes and two different days that I have to have the house clean and all perfect for my precious kiddos. Because they deserve it! But man does that stress me out! Also right before there birthdays is a big consignment sale that I participate in. I volunteer and I consign old stuff. I make really good money and get things I need, but it is a lot of work! You have to prepare everything yourself like tagging, hanging, and dropping off all your items. It is always worth it, but definitely a task.

I think the next two months are just going to be plain crazy. I can't wait til I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Wish me luck!

Mayhem

Here is a random assortment of updates:) We have been busy as usual so I have managed, of course, to not blog for a whole week. I hate when I do that. Oh well.....

I think I have mentioned before I make cake toppers. Mostly for wedding cakes, but they are super cute on birthday, anniversary, or babyshower cakes even. I recently got an offer from a florist to be able to put one of them in her store as basically free advertisement. I didn't want it to just lay there so I bought some fondant and styrofoam and made a fake little cake for my topper. I am not cake expert and this was tough. But I think it turned out alright....

I also wanted business cards and a real website. So my hubby (being super good at this stuff) made me a logo and a website! What do you think? www.glitzandglamletters.com

Savannah is into make up. A LOT! lol Every morning while I'm getting ready....."mommy, I do make-up." She mostly just plays with the lip glosses. It is really cute:)

Baby C is finding more and more new things he can eat. Sunday morning he enjoyed some of his Nanie's (my mom) homemade banana blueberry bread!

The Weekend

We have had a pretty good weekend. Nothing to crazy. Which is nice. Friday night I met the kids and Charlie at a place by our house called Prairie House. It is kinda like Cracker Barrel. The best part about it was that mommy was happy to see Savi had decided to wear a different SHIRT:) Now it was still Hello Kitty, but we will take it:) Man when you have 2 kids, you really learn how to eat fast. I think we sat, ate, and left in the time that some people just arrived and sat down. Some people were there when we arrived and still there when we left. lol Just how it goes. But I still love our family outings. After dinner we went and got ice cream. Both kids love that!

More recently we got Savannah a twin bed and her bedding came in. So her room is almost complete. Just a few more things. She is doing great sleeping in it. No problems really. And potty training is still going well. She even told me she needed to go when we got ice cream Friday night, so I took her to the bathroom and she was a big girl and went on the adult potty:) I was very proud. Just still working on poo poo. So difficult for a child sometimes.
On Saturday we just relaxed and did some playing outside. I rigged up a baby slide we had and made a pool slide for Savi. She loved it!

Today we have been relaxing so far and about to leave for the grocery store after baby Charlie gets up from his nap. Hope you are having a great Sunday!

Have you ever been obsessed with anything?

When I was a freshman/sophomore in highschool, I was obsessed with N'SYNC. Loved them like crazy. Your typical teen crazed fan. My friends and I loved them. We went to like 4 concerts and had a whole wall dedicated to them. I am now (and for sometime) obsessed in a healthy way (I think) with butterflies. I don't have any walls dedicated to them. But I just love them. Anything that has them on it, I generally like it. I have clothes, purses, home decor, etc. with butterflies on it. I of course have a small butterfly tattoo.

About 2 weeks ago my dad (papa for the kids) went to Old Navy and got some bucket hats for baby C and a pink Hello Kitty shirt for Savi. We went on vacation right after he got it for her. We slowly learned on vacation that this was the only shirt she wanted to wear. It was vacation, so we went with it. Who cares, lets just enjoy our time type attitude. We have been home for quite a bit and she is still very obsessed with it:) She wants this shirt ONLY all the time. "My pink shirt, my pink shirt" is what she calls it. lol For the first week, we couldn't even get her to take it off for a bath. I went to Old Navy to buy another Hello Kitty shirt and that did not work. She only wants that one. Small tantrums took place just so we could wash it. In the last few days it has been better. We can explain to her we need to wash it. And baths are being taken regularly. Today she even wore a different pink shirt. Small miracle:) I have no idea why she decided to be obsessed with this shirt. But either way, I'm ready for her to wear some of the other clothes mommy spent money on. It is quite hilarious. Papa however feels pretty good about his shopping skills;)

Potty Party!!!

Ok, it's been 2 weeks since our potty journey started. I didn't want to write about it to soon and jinx it. BUT I think we are there:) A couple months ago when we tried it, she let us know pretty clearly she was not ready. She would pee in her panties and not care at all.

On July 3rd I was home with the kids by myself. All day Savi was fighting me on wearing a diaper. I finally told her she had two options. Either wear your diaper or I brought out the potty and said or pee in the potty. She happily sat on the potty and nothing. I started having her sit on it every 5 minutes or so and I would count to 30. She had just had some juice a bit ago, so I knew she needed to pee. Somewhere between a screaming baby and 5 minutes I turned around to find she peed in front of the tv. I didn't get angry really I just told her we need to pee pee in the potty. (She didn't have panties on this time. Just running around with no bottoms on.) Again somewhere between hungry baby and 5 minutes she had an accident in front of the fridge. This was minutes after the first accident. We reviewed again the concept and moved on. I pretty much assumed it wasn't happening tonight. I was kinda defeated. A couple minutes later I turn around and Savi had gone and sat on the potty and went pee pee all on her own! I WAS SO PROUD! I made a huge deal about it. You could tell she knew I was proud. She did it again that same night before bed time.

I couldn't go right out to get her something for going potty. So I bought this later that night to give her the next day!

I didn't want to give her her presents right when she woke up. I wanted her to know it was a reward for going potty. So we started working on it first thing the next morning. She went pee pee in the potty very easily. Then low and behold, she went #2 all by herself also. Here she is trying on all new dress up jewelry:)

Since then we are still working on #2. But we pretty much got the pee pee down. Gotta work up to keeping her dry during naps and bedtime. The only thing she does that is confusing is sometimes she is ok with wearing panties. Other times she only wants diapers. BUT she will take the diaper off and still pee pee in the potty. Just her comfort zone I guess. Either way I'm happy we are working on this milestone. This mommy got to buy one less pack of diapers this past weekend:) My wallet is very happy!

Color Me Mine

A couple weeks ago we did a girls night at Color Me Mine. It is a paint your pottery type place and then they fire it for you. I decided to paint a sea turtle bank for baby C's room. Savi has a butterfly bank, so I thought this would be a good addition to his room. I like the way it turned out. Now I just need lots of money to fill it!

Road Trip

Right after the fourth, we piled in the car the next morning for our family vacation. Last year we went to a resort outside of Austin and loved it. We decided to go back. It's only about 4 hours away, which is doable with 2 little ones. Anything else is just to long. The resort is just so family friendly and beautiful. We got there late afternoon and went straight to the pool.

The resort has beautiful landscaped gardens. We like to take a family walk after dinner. Savi was big enough to walk it and we pushed Baby C. They have an activities lawn with a giant bean bag toss, life size checkers, and lots of balls/frisbees for use.

They have parrots all over the property. So pretty:)

The next morning we got up and ate and then headed straight for the beach area. Savannah loved this. Baby C went back pretty quick for a nap. So I stayed with Savi. She and I spent the whole morning together just playing at the beach and then I took her to the pool. It was great mommy/daughter time.

The rest of the vacation pretty much consisted of beach, pool, eat, sleep, and do it all again. We have a small kitchen in our room so we brought alot of our own food. Just easier with the baby that way then trying to go out. The resort has tons of stuff going on that there isn't really a need to go anywhere. Everything from s'mores, painting rubber duckies pool side, and other fun arts and crafts. Like I said, super family oriented and fun! We will be back for sure:)

We spent the fourth out at Charlie's parent's property. They have land and lots of room to spread out. We just hung out for the day and did things like.....

Swimming Galore!

This past week we did swim lessons. I found an awesome teacher and set up to do semi private lessons with our friends at my parents pool. The only trick was I had to do them on my lunch break. She was such a popular teacher, that that was all she had left. I got to her a little late. Anyway, so last week for all 5 days I would hop in my car and go to my parents (luckily they are only 1 miles away) and jump in the pool for swim lessons with Savi then change and go back to work. lol Charlie met me there with the kids everyday. One of us would swim and one would watch Baby C. It has been crazy, but so worth it!

The first day of lessons Savi was terrified of anything to do with going out into the pool. Mommy or no mommy it was not pleasant. We basically had that attitude for 3 days. It was a little rough. She was learning and did everything we asked, but cried through a lot of it. I knew it was best for her to keep going. Thursday was a little less crying and tried a few more things. Friday we met a whole new child. Go figure! She did everything and was suddenly excited about it! Every once in awhile apprehensive but still super willing. AND had fun! I'm so glad we did it. Savi had fun doing it with her friend and it couldn't have been better. I never got any pictures of the lessons, but here are a few after where everyone enjoyed the pool:)

I am stressed a little these days about lots of things. My to do list, jobs, money, errands, etc. But it doesn't really matter. I do not personally know this family, but I know several people that do know them and they just need our prayers. We didn't do to much this weekend. Saturday I took the kids to Walmart. They just weren't feeling it and it was pretty much a hellish experience. Oh well. We just stayed home for the rest of the day after that and then I went to work while my mom watched the kids.

Sunday we went to the grocery story and had a much more pleasant experience:) While the baby napped Savannah drew some pictures and I came around the corner to see she was very proud of them and hung them on the fridge! lol

Splash Park!

Wednesday I took the kids to a local splash park. It was really fun. Savannah had a blast and even baby Charlie enjoyed. It also turned out to be the perfect day. We had rain last night so it was cooler today. Only 80 when we were out there and a little cloudy. I was so glad I took them and will definitely be going back!

Ok people, this is internet dating at its best!!! I swear:) This coming from someone who met the love of her life on Match.com! Anyway over at Kelly's Corner, it is show us your singles and she has 7 success stories. I find this crazy and SUPER cool. I have the perfect friend!

Kristin is one of my best friends and deserves truly the world. She is 29 and lives in north Dallas. She works as an event manager for a well known hotel company in Plano, TX. Basically she plans weddings every single day. So to say she is patiently waiting for her turn would be an understatement for sure! She plans lots of other types of events too…..so don’t worry, she isn't wedding obssessed:) We met when she started planning my wedding! Since then we have become very close. She is honest, caring, and super fun to be around. If I had to pinpoint what she is looking for….I would say a good Christian boy who was raised right and knows how to treat a girl! Also tall would be good. She is 5'10. Other than that, the skies the limit:) Seriously though, if you want a great girl….Kristin is it!!!

A Girlie Day!

Last Saturday I was tickled pink to do something girlie with Savannah! We were sitting downstairs while the baby napped and I looked down at her toes and asked her if she wanted to paint her toe nails. I got an eager YES and she was off my lap and to the stairs. We got out all her choices and she insisted on blue. I tried for pink....but that was a no! lol As I'm doing her toes, she starts wanting purple. I convince her to save that for her nails. So we had an all around pedi/mani. She did so good!
Later that day I bought supplies to make her a new hair bow holder. A friend made the most adorable one and I wanted to copy:) Except the tutu colors didn't match her room as well so I did more of a dress bow holder. It wasn't perfect, but holds more bows and does the job!

Father's Day and a Birthday:)

We had a great father's day! I hope you did too! Charlie was off, which I was so happy for him. I got up early and took just Savannah with me to breakfast with my family. It was father's day of course but also my sisters birthday! Every once in awhile it ends up on the same day. We had a yummy breakfast and then my sister headed back to Mississippi:( Happy Birthday Sissy! Savannah and I went home and picked up the baby and Charlie to head out to his families house for the day. Charlie's uncle and aunt were going to come over and his cousin with his two girls. We haven't seen them since our wedding, so I was very excited! We grilled out and just enjoyed our time out there. Savannah played with her second cousins and just had a ball!

For gifts I gave all the fathers the same thing but each one fit there personality:) I saw this idea on a store's advertisement for you to come in and pay them to do this for $60. I said no thank you, I'll attempt myselft. The only difference is you can't eat off mine because it wasn't fired in a kiln. But I don't think that is a big deal.

It was great day! I am lucky to have such an amazing husband and dad. He spent alot of time playing with the girls that day and is just so good with kids. Wow, I'm posting a weekend update and it's not a week later! Woo Hoo:)

Friday was a great day. First my boss took us out to eat to celebrate a good score on an audit we just had. We went to Seasons 52. This place is soooo good! There "thing" is everything on there menu is 475 calories or less. This place is packed all the time. For lunch we needed a reservation and couldn't get one till 1pm! People love this place. We had a flatbread appetizer...so yummy. I did teriyaki chicken skewers. They don't really have sides for the meals, but it came with a small salad. It had an amazing dressing. And I pretty much only like ranch, so that says alot! If you have one near you, I would higly recommend!

Charlie's parents felt bad that we didn't get to go out to eat last weekend for our anniversary. So they offered up babysitter services for this past weekend. We were deciding between a few places to eat when on Thursday I won $40 to Cheesecake Factory in a hula hoop contest of all things! (We had a work cookout with lots of activities. I also won a mani/pedi gift card in a drawing!) We decided that we would save our money and enjoy a great meal there! So Friday after work I met Charlie and we enjoyed a great meal together. We went over to Ikea aftewards and bought a desk and chair for the gameroom so he would have somewhere to work on his laptop when the kids are playing. We also found this really cool bed I think we are going to get Savi!

Reeses Peanut Butter Cheesecake and a glass of reisling. I only had a few sips. Pumping and dumping is not something I do really.

How cool is this bed. The bunk is not very high either. It maybe went to my chest. It can be set both ways and you can by this little accessory for the first set up that goes across the underneath of the bed and you can attach like a curtain. Such a great escape for kids. I've done more research and a lot of people just paint the slats and boards whatever color. Said it was very easy. The blue is interchangable to white, but I've seen tons of ideas with this bed. I think we will definitely be buying to upgrade Savi out of her toddler bed very soon!

After all that I had planned to go over to my moms house for a few reasons. Charlie headed home to relieve his parents. I walked in and my dad was acting all weird. Then there dog ran around the corner. (Which for the last 2 months had been with my sister in MS) It clicked that my SISTER came home early. She wasn't due in till later this Friday. She took the whole week off instead. I was so happy. Such a great surprise! We hung out for a bit and then decided on a late impromtu movie of Bridesmaids. I had already seen it, but it was really funny. My mom works for the headquarters of Cinemark and had gotten these t-shirts free. We wore them to the movie ha! It was a late night but fun!

She is getting married in December, so she covered up the maids:)

Saturday was lazy and me sleeping when the kids slept. My sis came over late afternoon and then babysat while I went to work. I'm so lucky she loves my kids so much! Sunday was kinda lazy too, but I did grocery shop and get some other things done! Hope you had a great weekend!

Earlier this week my girlfriends and I planned a girls night. But we wanted to do something different. We decided on Top Golf. It is like a driving range but with curb side service of drinks and food, and it is a double decker for the driving range part. You get a member card with your information. They then have you swipe your card and club everytime you are going to hit. Once you hit, there is a flat screen that shows you your yardage and where you hit. They have targets that are worth points so you can play/compete with whoever you go with. None of us are pros by any means, so we just had a good time. They just opened this location about 2 weeks ago and had a few technical difficulties. Overall we still had fun, but they offered us 2 free games on are card for next time!

Last Friday was the dance studio that I teach at Dance Recital. Our theme this year was Cruising Around The World. It turned out great and the kids did so well. Today is our wedding anniversary. We are celebrating 4 wonderful years! How lucky am I???

I work at the hotel that we got married at. Everyday I walk in or right by where I said my vows.....

Charlie is so good to me. We will always have our ups and downs, but he seriously is the best husband and father. He loves our kids so much and really plays with them and tries to teach them new things everyday. He very well could have changed more diapers than me. He takes care of me and helps me with everything. I can't believe we are on our way to 5 years and more! Love you Charlie!!! Happy Anniversary!

Rough then Smooth

Our Memorial Day weekend started out a little rough, but ended good. Saturday big Charlie wasn't feeling well. He has ulcertive colitis and could tell something was going on. The day went on and he was feeling worse. With it being a holiday weekend, we didn't think he could make it til Tuesday to see a doctor. Plus I didn't see any point in waiting til 2am when it was at its absolute worse, so we called his parents to come over and took him to the ER. They were able to give him an IV with fluids, pain meds for the cramping, and steroids to overall calm his stomach down. We left a couple hours later. Sunday we didn't' do much, just tried to let him rest so I took the kids a couple of places. On Monday he felt somewhat better but again I wanted him to rest. The contractors showed up to build us a new fence. The last thing on the list to repair since the awful storm a couple months ago.
We have repaired our fence so much. Everytime a bad storm comes, a part of it would fall. The previous owners did not take good care of it. So we are super excited for metal post and a brand new fence!

Charlie was a sweet hubby and let me loose with his credit card in Victoria Secret!
The kids were really good at the mall for me, so I also stopped a few other places and found us some new bed sheets. Ours were so worn out! We just ended the day at home and had a quiet night. Hope you had a great long weekend!

I have a picture from when I was a little girl of me in the bath tub eating an ice cream sandwich. My mom was gone at something that night leaving my dad in charge. He felt that this was the best place for me to eat said ice cream:) I relived that memory a few nights ago with Savannah. I gave her an ice cream bar and let her have at it with no worries! It was fun and she loved it:)

Green Eyed Monster

So I know the green eyed monster is a term generally used for someone who is greedy, but for lack of knowledge on the other monsters that is what I'm titling this post. I love my baby girl more than anything, but what monster is head of non SHARING! Because let me tell you, we are in full force of the words/phrase....MINE, GIVE IT BACK, and NO! Mostly directed at baby C. We have to constantly remind her to share and to not just grab things out of his hands. Stuff she isn't even playing with and Charlie picks up, she instantly wants and won't rest til she gets it back. She only shares on her terms. She hands things to him of hers to play with or read. But if she doesn't like it, she lets him know. As of right now we are just really reinforcing what sharing is and not rewarding bad behavior, but any tips would be super helpful.

Weekend is half way done and I'm beat! Baby Charlie is officially crawling!! He likes to go back and forth between army crawl and the real deal but he can do it! He is also teething and needy:) Good thing I love him to death! He also does not like going to the store anymore in his carseat. So I got him a cart cover and he is quite happy. He just looks around and takes it all in. Savi was enjoying her new spot also:)

Last night we had The Jasper's over for dinner. Savannah was very excited Sophia was coming over. We had a yummy dinner and just talked and watched the kids play. It is so much easier to just do dinner at home when you have kids! Plus Mrs. Jasper is expecting twins, so pretty sure anything more relaxing for her is good! Super excited for her!

Today Savannah continued in her new thing of eating apples whole! She loves this. She did it once earlier this week and today asked for another. I love it of course:) She can have as many apples as she wants!

Splish Splash

Bath time at our house is super fun:) We have special tablets that change the water to fun colors. They are seriously a staple at our house! Savannah runs to the drawer to get them as soon as she hears the water turn on:) Here is baby C enjoying a bath in his crystal clear blue water!

Mother's Day 2011

Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I hope you had a relaxing day with your kids;) Charlie had to work yesterday, so I did exactly what I should be doing.....be a mom! Kids apparently were excited about said special day, as they both woke up around the 5:45am-6am time frame. Awesome:) We lounged for a bit and then got on with the day. I took the kids to play with my mom and then we took my mom out to lunch. After that we spent the rest of the day at home. I napped when they napped, and then it was pretty warm out so we got some of our backyard water toys out. Both kids really enjoyed that. Charlie says we will celebrate later this week. Either way, I spent the day with my precious kiddos and that is what Mother's Day is all about!

Savannah and I last night before bed.....Baby C was already in bed and the picture I have with him is on my camera at home. I'll post more later of them outside with there pool toys:)

Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful mom! She selflessly gives up about 4 hours every Saturday to watch the kids so I can go to work. (She works a 40hr work week too) She is wonderful to my kids and I'm becoming more and more EXACTLY like her;) It's a good thing. And lastly Happy Mother's Day to my Mother-in-Law! You always hear people complaining about there in laws about this and that but I'm super lucky. I have the best MIL I could ask for. She is also super sweet to my kids and is always letting me know she is thinking about me. I hope both moms had a fantastic day!

Savannah is into blocks. More specifically.....building castles with blocks:) Every morning she says, "go playroom, build castles." Which I then say, "well first we have to go downstairs and eat breakfast." Savi: "Baby Charlie hungry!?" Me: "Yep and you need breakfast too!" Savi: "Ok mommy." lol love her!

Little man turned 8 months this week. He is loving pulling up on anything he can find. His favorite is the bathroom tub. Funny story...this morning he was standing at the tub and Savannah told him that is was time to do his makeup. I was getting ready at the time. She grabbed some eye shadow and put it in front of him. I was laughing and thought my husband would probably be so proud. Then baby C threw the eye makeup into the tub. Guess he will try to be as "all boy" as he can:) lol

A little late, I know....but oh well. I always get so anxious when I get behind on reading and posting blogs. So silly, but I can't help it. It makes me feel behind in all aspects if I'm behind on this stuff. Go figure...

We had a great Easter, but not without some crazy storms. I took the kids out to Charlie's parents house on Saturday. Charlie had to work:( We had a great day. Charlie's grandparents were in town, so that was a special treat. Savi got to dye more eggs, decorate cupcakes, and of course Easter egg hunt! The adults even got to hunt Easter eggs. Except our eggs had MONEY in them:) Mims and pops (what we call Charlie's parents instead of grandma and grandpa) did a great job hiding the eggs for us adults. It was fun! Around the time we were thinking of heading home it started to rain pretty hard. Then got harder and added hail. Hail got bigger. It got later. Tornado sirens went off. We weren't going anywhere. Charlie was worried about us and didn't want me driving. It is about 50 miles from our house. So I put the kids to sleep (about 5 times) and waited for Charlie to come out there. He insisted on coming to us. He got to his parents and ate some dinner. It was just so crazy with so many people and the kids were having a hard time sleeping being in a different bed and it not being as quiet as they were used to. Around 11:30pm when all the storms had passed, we decided it would probably be best to just head home. Even though it was late, we would still probably get more sleep then if we stayed. We packed up and got home around 1ish. Great day, but super long. Oh and that morning I had gotten up at 4am because I had to do something at work that couldn't be missed. I didn't want to get a babysitter for the 1 hr I was there so I just got up early enough while Charlie was still home. He has to leave for work by 6am, so I had to get to work and be home by then. I encountered what I'm pretty sure was a drunk driver on my way there and called 911. Needless to say, I was very happy to climb into bed!

After all that craziness, we stayed home Sunday and rested. Charlie even stayed home. We gave the kids there Easter baskets and I think they both loved everything we gave them. We went over to my parents for a bit and hunted more eggs. Had a nice lunch and then headed home to relax for the rest of the day. It was a great weekend! Happy Easter to everyone:)

I'm a little behind on posting. About a week and half ago we went over to my friend (and Savi's) house. My friend, Annalisa, has a daughter the same age as Savi. They have such a good time playing:) We went over to dye Easter eggs! They did pretty good for such a messy project. Randomly this morning Savannah told me that she had fun with Sophia. Guess we will need to see her again real soon!

I was so excited to take Savi to her first movie this weekend! She had a great time and did pretty well. I took her to see Rio. Very cute. We got there and got her a movie meal. Got seated and for the first hour, she was so content with her popcorn and drink. I could have eaten up the cuteness of her just watching the movie and eating her popcorn. The next twenty minutes she got a little ancy. There were some kids sitting next to us that were up and down a lot, so she knew she could get out of her seat. She wanted to stand and I let her for a little while. But after about 20 minutes, I finally said "ok if we can't sit in our seat, then we will have to go bye bye." She seemed to understand. She sat in her seat and my lap pretty well after that. They had a little pre cartoon before the movie with that squirrel from Ice Age and he is chasing his acorn. She was very excited during this part, she kept yelling "it's an acorn!" And giggling. She also had her light up sketchers which she thoroughly enjoyed being able to see light up in the theater:) All in all, I had a GREAT time and I think she did too!

You saw my previous post about Savi helping me with the silverware last week. Well look what she is wanting to help with now..........Gotta love her! We have had a crazy week. We got a very bad hail and wind storm last Sunday that has caused damage to our roof, gutters, and fence. The process is annoying but we should be able to get most of this repaired without anything coming out of our pocket! (fingers crossed!) I was so scared when the storm came. I didn't know it was coming and I have never heard anything so loud. The hail was about the size of ping pong balls. I jumped up and ran to get my babies. I didn't want them to be scared. We went to our downstairs closet. Some people had hail break there windows and the glass cut there kids. Scary! We were safe and had more rain last night, but hopefully on our way to being all fixed up! I'm hoping to take the kids to go strawberry picking at a farm about 30 minutes from the house. Hopefully we have good weather. Savi has the cutest shirt from Gymboree with a giant strawberry on it that is calling to have its picture made! lol Have a great weekend!

Stars Aligned

Last week I rushed home, changed clothes and got everyone else changed and ready for bluebonnet family pictures. I'm always nervous. Will Savi smile and be good. Will the baby be happy. Will Charlie not complain. lol Well I'm happy to report the stars were aligned and we got some great pictures. Savi wanted to be upset at the very beginning. But being the responsible mature parents we are, we had an adult conversation and reasoned with her. (i.e "Do you want some ice cream after we are done???") Done:) Crisis averted! Oh and totally worth it!!!

Nothing crazy interesting going on. Savannah got a Dora Dollhouse a few weeks ago and has really been playing with it. I'm loving watching her get more into make believe! I made these shirts for the kids for Easter. Ordered the iron ons from Etsy and bought plain shirts from Hobby Lobby.

We took bluebonnet pictures this week and they turned out exactly how I wanted. I will post them soon. Beautiful weather here lately, but freakishly windy. So annoying!

Summer Lovin'

We had a great time last weekend. Charlie's work had low census (not very many babies in the NICU) so he was able to have the weekend off. VERY RARE for us. And I took a PTO day on Friday. So we had some great family time. We took the kids to the zoo Friday morning. We went to a smaller zoo in Gainsville, TX. It was the perfect size for Savannah. She loved it. She would peak through the exhibits and yell "I see giraffes, I see zebras" and then toddle like two feet and repeat all over again. To funny! She left with a cute stuffed giraffe:)

We spent the rest of the day at Charlie's parents property and just enjoyed the beautiful day! This little girl and boy are ready for summer!

Baby C is so close to crawling. I got a video of him commando crawling this weekend!

Wedding Bells

My sister got engaged on March 13th! Yeah so happy for her and her fiance! They were in town for spring break and he asked her Sunday morning over breakfast in bed:) They will be married here in December. Guess who is the flower girl....

Above is the chapel...she is all ready to walk down the aisle. I sent his picture to her daddy, he was ready to cry! Baby C will be the ring bearer. Who knows if he will be pulled down the aisle or walking away!

We were so busy the day she got engaged with going to see the family and then I still needed to grocery shop. So I bought chicken nuggets from McDonalds on the way home for dinner. After Savi had eaten her portion (I had bought like 20 for 4.99 knowing Charlie could have the leftovers), I told her ok the rest is for daddy. I turned around for a second and this is what I found....

Guess someone felt like marking her territory for a later meal:)

Baby Charlie started baby food:) He was so ready for it! We started with sweet potatoes and they were a hit! His doctor appointment is Monday, hopefully our doc isn't mad that we went ahead and started him on baby food. But he was just so hungry and gobbles his rice cereal down.

I took Tuesday off this past week and had a lovely day off with my family. We relaxed in the morning and got all rested up. We were taking Savi to a place in town called Going Bonkers! I was really excited to take her. I knew she would love it.

It is basically a huge maze climbing apparatus with slides, ladders, and other obstacles along the way. She was timid at first and not to sure, but after awhile she was a pro. They have a section blocked off for 1-3 year olds and adults can go in with them. It is super cheap to go too. Only $4.50 for all of us to get in:) Baby C cheered his sister on on the sidelines.

After we left Going Bonkers we went to Souper Salad. Charlie and I reminisced, as this was where we told his parents I was pregnant with Savi. We met them for dinner there, because it was one of the few places that sounded remotely good to me. I was so sick at the time. We had brought gifts for them to tell them the big news. Right before we told them, I went to the bathroom and was sick. Good times:)

This would be time just flying by. Baby Charlie turned 6 months on Friday! CRAZY! He will have his check up appointment sometime next week. He has made it very clear he is ready for baby food. He can hold his own bottle. And overall is just progressing like a good little boy!

Baby C turning 6 months means Savi is turning 2 1/2, since they were born the same week only 2 years apart. I'm 6 months away from a 3 year old and a 1 year old. That sounds so weird! Gotta run....gotta enjoy this moment before it passes me by!

Wednesday was so pretty. We had to get out and enjoy outside. I took Savannah on a walk in the push car and Baby C hung out in the pack. Savannah has the perfect pony tail right now. Long and a cute curl, with a pink bow of course:) I still haven't gotten her hair cut yet. I just don’t know why I would be doing it. Her hair is pretty even and super thick. Bangs have grown out almost completely. At this rate, Baby C will be getting a hair cut before his sister! HA

My birthday was this past Saturday. It was my golden birthday:) 26 on the 26th! We went to dinner on Friday night with my parents and then Charlie, myself, and the kids strolled Target. Love that place. Saturday Charlie had to work. I had to work some in the morning too. The rest of the day I just spent at home with the kids. I asked Savi to say "Happy Birthday Mommy" and she did. So nice of her:) Then Charlie's mom covered for him at work so he could come home early. He got home at 6pm which was a nice surprise. He had a cake and chinese food in tow. Perfect evening.

My birthday is not why I want to stop time. It is because my precious little ones are growing to fast! Savi is now sitting in a booster seat at the adult table. And little Charlie fits just barely in the highchair:) And look at him trying so hard to lift up on his knees for operation crawl! Love them so much!

She now has the perfect use for her placemat her Great Aunt Susie gave her:)

Wonderful Wednesday

We had such a great day yesterday. First we started off with some sticker fun. The child loves stickers:) I always have them in the diaper bag in case we are somewhere with a long wait. They are an instant life saver!

We later met up with a friend of mine and her daughter for a playdate. Her daughter, Sophia, is only one month younger than Savi. We met up at the mall. They ran off some good energy. Very fun for Savi. Then we ate lunch. A great time!

After we got home, my mother in law called and asked if Savi could come spend the night. My husband planned to go out to his parents anyway today, so it worked out for him to go pick her up. She picked Savi up around 4ish and it was just me and baby C for the night. I got in some housework, and some special one on one time with my sweet baby.

All in all a great day:)

Valentine's Pictures

I took the kids on Saturday for a little mini valentines session with our photographer. I had done one as a surprise for Charlie 2 years ago with just Savi for her first vday. So I decided to do it again, but with both kids of course. These are a few that I have seen so far.....

I decided to do a few things this year for valentines day. First I saw at kroger these really cute candy bouquets. They wanted $20-$35 for them. I poked at them and saw they were super easy to make. So I made a big one and a little one for Charlie and Savi!

I had vases already. Fill them up with whatever candy you want.

Glue candy to dowel rods or skewers. I had skewer already also!

Use either cellophone or tissue paper and poke thru wherever you want. Total cost was probably $5 each. (I bought my candy early and on sale...so maybe add a dollar or two if it was full price)

Savi loved it and immediately picked a "candy flower" to eat!:)

My sis gave me the idea of making little red velvet heart cakes. You just buy cake mix and spread thinly on a cookie sheet. Bake 10 min ( I baked longer bc my sis didn't answer the phone when I was baking and wasn't sure what to do. She called back to late after I baked for 20 min! Luckily they were still ok) Cut out shape of choice. Then I used cream cheese icing. I colored it pink and made little cakes for work. Yummy!

We read every night to Savi. She picks out a couple of books and hasn't entered the stage yet of picking a gazillion. She picks a few and when were done she happily climbs in bed:) Then we pray and do nose kisses. When I'm by myself, I usually put baby C somewhere safe and let him play. I have discovered that if I put him in my lap, he loves to look and listen as I read to Savi. So now we have family book time. I love it.

So my blogging hiatus has been due to the crazy weather and crazy times at my work leading up to the superbowl! So much to do and not enough time! Oh and the whole 2 kids under 2 thing doesn't help:)

So last weekend we had a beautiful day of 70's weather and I took the kids out to play of course! Baby C had a picnic of toys and Savi enjoyed her sand box. It was perfect!

Then came the fun weather....

G'Nosh and Cowboy Boots!

My friends birthday was a couple weeks ago. I decided to take her on a surprise outting. She was asking lots of questions so I decided to throw her off. I told her to be sure to bring her cowboy boots to work that day. She was TOTALLY thrown off and confused. It was so fun:) She did not need those boots at all, because we went to G'Nosh. It is a really neat place where they have you sit in a class with easels and paint ready to go. You have a pre set painting that you are going to paint. A teacher stands up at the front and teaches you how to paint it with little tricks and things. Anyone can do it, I swear. No talent needed. It was so fun!
